The Internet is a very small place. There are about 20 websites that I visit on a regular basis--some news sites, both traditional and niche, a handful of blog aggregators and a few reference sites. The rest of my web experience consists of researching very narrow topics on google.

What I find dissatisfying about this is that it lacks entropy; I'm only exposed to those ideas which I'm looking for. It does not encourage me to look into ideas I'm not interested in and it certainly does not expose me to new ideas. What does? Well the library or a bookstore for one. When I am looking for a book, I can't but help notice other titles. Inevitable, a few interesting titles jump out at me and I go home with five times as many books as I intended from authors I would normally not have read and on topics I may not have actively sought.

I want my entropy back.
